How do SEMCD Dentures Work?

Prior to Dr. Abe’s landmark breakthrough with lower suction dentures, patients often had to use dental adhesives to hold mandibular dentures in place for periods of time. Patients often complained that the taste of the adhesives lead to appetite loss and that the adhesives did not stay in place for very long, leading to constant need to reapply the adhesives. A treatment plan will then be formulated and discussed with the patient.

The SEMCD denture process starts with a unique impression method where the soft tissue and bony structures are recorded to ensure greater accuracy and a better fit. While the patient still has the impression device in their mouth, the patient will be asked to make specific movements and sounds with their mouth, which are then captured by the impression material. Once the impressions have been made, they will be sent off to the lab for fabrication and the patient will later be called for a try-in.
